Deceivers Of The Word

I am priest Chris Therrien of the EOC, and today there is a very important topic I would like to speak on. Throughout time and humanity are not only deceivers of man, but of the Word. What are deceivers of the Word? To me, they are people who try to preach the Word, but only to appease their own need, not the need of the Lord. They make a front to make you think about yourself and place to the Lord but will go against most of what they say. Hypocrites, false prophets, and false teachers.
Matthew 6:1
“Beware of practicing your righteousness before other people in order to be seen by them, for then you will have no reward from your Father who is in heaven.”
Romans 2:3
“Do you suppose, O man—you who judge those who practice such things and yet do them yourself—that you will escape the judgment of God?”
Matthew 7:1-5
“Judge not, that you be not judged. For with the judgment you pronounce you will be judged, and with the measure you use it will be measured to you. Why do you see the speck that is in your brother’s eye, but do not notice the log that is in your own eye? Or how can you say to your brother, ‘Let me take the speck out of your eye,’ when there is the log in your own eye? You hypocrite, first take the log out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to take the speck out of your brother’s eye.”

False prophets are as terrible, if not worse. For a person to claim they are the Christ, or that Christ is here or there; it’s absolutely disgusting to the Lord, and those who have claimed falsely will be punished greatly.
Matthew 24:23
“Then if someone will say to you, “Behold, the Messiah is here or there”, you should not believe.”
Unlike those who have come before, not once have we or the Lord ever claimed His location as even we do not know. We know those who have come before revealing themselves and have flocks of people come to them, making public appearances and what have you. And most of them have ended horribly such as the Heaven’s Gate cult, whose leader claimed he was a descendant of Christ. These people have a dark fate ahead of them in Judgement.
I hope that some people will be able to walk away from this better. Know that the Lord is here on Earth again, and those who truthfully follow Him and abide by His rule shall be saved. Everyone will be judged for their lives in the end, and all will be as God plans. Make sure you are not one of those false teachers or proclaiming of another Christ, for His wrath will not miss them on judgment day. Be well, in Lord RayEl’s name. Amen.
