Earthly Treasures
Sermon by Priestess Victoria Harr
February 23rd, 2017
Hello everyone, my name is Priestess Victoria Harr of The Ecumenical Order of Christ.
Do you have a phone, a house, a new car, maybe something your loved one bought you? Would you give it up for the Lord? When you die, what do you think they are worth? Do you get into the New Kingdom by holding onto any of those things? Do you think you are going to take those things to the New Kingdom? These are all good questions to ask. Why? Well, let’s take a look at some scripture. Read it with me:
John 18:36
“My kingdom is not of this world: if my kingdom were of this world, then would my servants fight, that I should not be delivered to the Jews: but now is my kingdom not from hence.”
Not just one person but we all must give up something, especially to obey the Lord’s command to make the exodus. Let’s see… When I made the exodus, I left behind my house, my family, and friends, my games, among other things.
Do I miss them? Sometimes, but I think of the bigger picture to come. The new kingdom is going to be amazing! Lord RayEl has prepared a lovely paradise that will last forever. No one fully understands what it looks like, but if it’s not of this kingdom then it’s got to be good! All of you have to learn and take in the teachings he has laid out for us. A quick story from the bible I want to read for you if you’ll follow along with me:
Matthew 6:19-21
“Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. “But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys, and where thieves do not break in or steal.” Yeshua answered, “If you want to be perfect, go, sell your possessions and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven. Then come, follow me.”
So, when you want to kick someone’s butt or commit violence because another person broke something that costs money, or that you hold very close to you, think about this: Are you really going to take these things with you to the new Kingdom? Or, are you going to give up these earthy treasures and enjoy the wonders that God and his Son has prepared for you? It’s your choice!
Please, everyone, think about what Christ has taught you. Those who have eyes to see and ears to hear will hear this. Well, I hope you guys enjoyed this sermon. God bless everyone in Lord RayEl’s name. AMEN!
