Claudia Horton

Born in Manila, Philippines, the native homeland of her mother who relocated her to the United States at a very early age, Claudia was brought up in a very traditional Catholic home. Growing up in a small town in Georgia, the majority of her father’s family was Southern Baptist with several cousins being Baptist preachers. They did not identify with the rest of the family when it came to their religious upbringing.

During her childhood, Claudia’s family was very involved in the Catholic Church life. Her father was an officer in the Knights of Columbus, holding the post of secretary for several years till he retired. Her mother was a Sunday school teacher for several years and also worked as a volunteer in the nursery on occasion. Claudia, along with her sister and brother, was also very involved. She was a Sunday school assistant teacher, volunteer nursery worker, usher, greeter, Eucharistic minister, and later on while going back to college for a degree in Radiologic Technologies, she worked as a teacher at the Church’s preschool.

Claudia has always gravitated to a career involving children, which lead her to work toward a degree in Early Childhood Education while attending college. She also has a corporate background which includes working for over 5 years in insurance as a proposal analyst at a general insurance agency in Atlanta, Georgia. She also had a medical background as a Radiologic Technologist, medical assistant and specimen processor with over 5 years of experience in pediatric urgent care.

Her spiritual journey began a year and a half ago when she began to study the teachings of the Lord, which broadened her views on religion to include the Abrahamic faiths. Her ideals coincide with the core belief of the group, which is to “Love God and Love each other.” Her love for the Lord and The Father lead her to Baja Mexico to join Sanctuary Interfaith. While here, she has flourished in her faith and dedication to the Lord.
